Product innovators in modern print.
Gardners is a substantial company working in niche areas of manufactured print, primarily using screen print and digital processes. Formed in 1976 by its chairman Richard Gardner, it works from 2 sites in Cardiff, manufacturing products for many different industries and applications. Gardners have a large and diverse portfolio of products and processes with numerous patents and copyrights. These cover the building industry, outdoor advertising media, backlit printing, dye sublimation onto fabrics, metal and aluminium and specialised adhesive technology for use in the financial sector. The maximum print area for screen is 1750mmx1150mm for single colour working and they also operate the latest fully automatic high-speed cylinder presses. Gardners also installed a 3-colour line capable of printing semi rigid materials both sides and applying specialist adhesives with a maximum print area of 310mmx330mm. Digital printing, now accounting for 50% of the turnover of the company, offers all current digital process working up to a maximum print width of 5m. Dye sublimation onto fabric and rigid materials is a major part of the business with the use of 3 heat transfer presses. | |

| Following 2 years of planning and a 4-month intensive build programme Gardners have moved into its new purpose built premises. The 3.5 acre site on Cardiff's Eastern approaches comprises 2 factories totaling 75,000 square feet, this has allowed Gardners to consolidate the 4 current factories and fulfillment premises in Cardiff onto 1 site. There is also scope for future expansion at this site. Due to the height of the building, 12 metres at the apex, Gardners have built a 5000 sq.ft mezzanine floor to house all offices, studio, laminating and Dotrix departments. The move will confirm Gardners position as one of the worlds leading large format digital print providers. | | | | Main Interior |
